My First Post
I have decided to begin blogging about card making, scrapbooking, and various types of paper crafting projects that I have had fun making for myself and others. I thought that it might be a good way to document what I've made and how I've grown (hopefully) as a papercrafter over time. I began scrapbooking in February of 2007, and rubber stamping in February of 2008. I probably should have begun this blog in February of any year thereafter...ha! Oh well, consider the pattern broken. I find it pretty intimidating to start such a project.
Although it is near the end of April, I thought that I'd post a little project that I made in January. This is a birthday card with matching envelope and candy holder that I made for my beautician. The envelope was made before I was able to purchase the We R Memory Keeper's new envelope punch. It took me quite a while to figure out to make it and you can imagine how glad I am now to own the envelope maker. Envelope making is a breeze these days. The box top to the little candy holder has 3 paper flowers on it. The bottom of the candy holder is decorated with a birthday cake sticker...just because. Sherry Cheever's flower making expertise inspired my flowers and Linda McClain's box making expertise inspired my candy holder. I have learned so much from the generous tutorials fellow crafters have posted. I am grateful to them for their willingness to share.
